Russian Okinawa karate and kobudo pioneer Valeriy Maistrovoy is a shihan of the World Okinawa karate and kobudo federation. He was one of the first Russians to introduce Okinawan karate and kobudo to the Russia and Eastern Europe. Since opening his first dojo in Moscow, Russia, in 1989, Valeriy Maistrovoy has taught over 5,000 students in the ways of Okinawan karate and Ryukyuan kobudo. Today he supervises over 35 martial arts dojos around the world. Shihan Valeriy Maistrovoy holds the coveted 7th degree black belt (one of the few Westerners to hold such a high rank) and teaches at the Moscow University of Physical Culture and Sports and promoted major martial arts championship events. Since 1991 he is training the commandos officers (army, police) in Russia and Europe.
